What is a ChatGPT secret code?
It is a short prompt that starts with a slash, like
/product45. You may have seen them in reels about
"hidden ChatGPT tricks".
Here is the honest part: they are not hidden. ChatGPT has no list of secret commands. It reads the words inside the code and works out the rest from your photo. So a code works when its words paint a clear picture.
How to use a code
- Open ChatGPT.
- Upload one photo of your product.
- Type the code, for example
/product45, and send it. Nothing else. - Not what you wanted? Generate again, or paste the longer prompt under the code.
If the code misses
A short code leaves a lot for ChatGPT to guess, so results change from try to try. Run it again, or use the longer prompt under each code. It spells out exactly what you want.
You can also paste the longer prompt into other image tools, for example GPT Image 2.5 or Nano Banana on OpenArt.
45-degree hero
Code #1The classic shop photo: front and side both visible.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. Photograph it at a 45-degree angle on a seamless white background, soft studio light, gentle shadow, e-commerce hero shot.
Flat-lay
Code #2Shot from straight above, with a few matching props around it.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. Top-down flat-lay on a neutral surface, a few simple props that match its colours around it, soft even light.
Macro detail
Code #3A very close shot of the texture, cap or finish.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. Extreme macro close-up of its most interesting detail and material texture, shallow depth of field, studio light.
Floating
Code #4The product hovering in the air with a soft shadow below.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. It floats in the air above a clean surface, soft shadow directly below it, pastel background, commercial studio photo.
Mirror reflection
Code #5The product on a glossy surface with a clean reflection.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. Place it on a glossy mirror-like surface with a clean reflection underneath, gradient background, premium studio light.
Black background
Code #6A dark, premium studio look.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. Seamless black background, one soft key light from the side, controlled highlights, luxury dark studio photo.
Rim light
Code #7A thin line of light around the edges that makes it pop.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. Dark background, thin rim light tracing its edges, subtle front fill, dramatic premium product photo.
Three angles in one
Code #8Front, side and 45-degree views side by side in one image.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. Show it three times side by side on white: front view, side view and 45-degree view, identical lighting, catalog layout.
In hand
Code #9A hand holding the product, so people see the real size.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. A hand holding it naturally toward the camera, clean background, soft light, shows the real size.
With a model
Code #10A model using or holding the product in a lifestyle shot.
Keep the uploaded product exactly the same: shape, colours, label and logo. A professional model holds it near their face and smiles, bright lifestyle setting, the product sharp and in focus.
How to make your own code
A code is a picture squeezed into one word. Name things you can see, not feelings.
| Part | Examples |
|---|---|
| Where | city, café, beach, studio |
| How big or close | giant, tiny, close-up, full body |
| What happens | splash, walking, laughing, frozen |
| How it is shot | low angle, flash, golden hour, black background |
Put two or three of these together into one word. Then test your code in a new chat, three times, with a different photo each time. Keep it only if all three look good.
Questions
Are ChatGPT secret codes real hidden commands?
No. ChatGPT has no secret list of codes. A code like /product45 is just a short prompt with the spaces taken out. ChatGPT reads the words inside it and guesses the rest. That is why a good code is a clear picture in two to four words.
Why does my result look different from the example?
ChatGPT makes a new image every time, and it fills in the details itself. Your photo and even your chat history change the result. If the code misses, run it again, or use the longer prompt under it.
Do these codes work in other AI image tools?
Many image tools send your text straight to the image model, with no chat model in between to read the code. There, the longer prompt is the safer choice.
What photo of my product should I upload?
One sharp photo of the product on a plain background, with the label facing the camera. ChatGPT copies the label from your photo, so a blurry label gives you blurry text.
Can I make my own codes?
Yes. Name the picture you want: the place, the size, the light or the style. Every word in a good code describes something you can see. A word like /cool does not, so the results jump around.
Are these codes free?
Yes. Copy them, change them and use the images for your own posts.
