A goose in black sunglasses stands on a grey street with a pistol under its wing. It steps off the curb and walks slowly into the road. Three street cats play with a mouse there. The goose fires three shots at the sky. The cats run, and the mouse escapes into a drain. Then the goose keeps walking, straight at the camera.

The joke works because it looks real. It looks like someone across the street saw it and filmed it on a phone. The camera shakes, zooms in badly and jumps at every shot.

You make it in two steps. First a still photo of the goose, then the video that starts from that photo.

The whole process

  1. Open OpenArt, go to image and pick Nano Banana Pro.
  2. Paste the first prompt and make the first frame: the goose on the sidewalk.
  3. Go to video and pick Seedance 2.5, image to video.
  4. Add the goose photo as the first frame. Set 15 seconds and 9:16.
  5. Paste the video prompt as it is and press Generate.

Make the first frame

Open OpenArt, go to image and pick Nano Banana Pro. Paste the prompt below. You do not need a reference image for this step.

Gangster goose first frame: Nano Banana Pro

Low-quality candid smartphone photo taken from across the street, handheld, slightly tilted, mild JPEG compression, soft focus, phone sensor noise, muted desaturated colors, flat overcast daylight with no visible sun. Real wild animal with accurate anatomy, size and feather/fur texture, nothing cartoonish, nothing CGI. The animal looks like it was genuinely photographed on the street, not composited. Not posed, not staged. No text, no watermark, no visible faces of people.

A Canada goose standing on both webbed feet on a cracked concrete sidewalk, body upright with its long neck raised, posture a little like a small person. It has a black head and long black neck, a white chin strap, a brown-grey body and a pale chest. It wears tiny black Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses and holds a small black pistol loosely in one wing at its side, barrel pointed at the ground. Its head is turned slightly, as if watching someone leave. Setting: a plain grey rendered wall behind, litter and a cigarette butt in the gutter, faded white lane line on the asphalt in the foreground, the legs of a passerby in dark shorts and black clogs cut off at the right edge of the frame mid-stride. The goose stands about knee-high to the passerby. Eye level, shot from about 8 meters away with a phone camera, 4:3 framing, goose small in frame.

Text to image, no reference.

This is the frame we got:

A candid phone photo of a Canada goose standing on a cracked grey sidewalk in front of a plain grey wall. It wears small black sunglasses and holds a small black pistol at its side, pointed at the ground. Litter and a cigarette butt lie in the gutter, a faded white line runs across the road, and the legs of a passerby in dark shorts and black clogs walk out on the right.
@Image1 The first frame: the goose on the sidewalk, the passerby leaving on the right

Check two things before you move on. The sunglasses sit on the goose’s face, and the pistol is at its side, not floating. If not, generate again. The video copies everything in this frame.

Make the video

In OpenArt, go to video and pick Seedance 2.5. Choose image to video and add the goose photo as the first frame. Set the length to 15 seconds and the shape to 9:16.

Paste the prompt below as it is. @Image1 is your goose photo, so you do not need to change anything.

Gangster goose: Seedance 2.5, 15 seconds

FORMAT: 15s / 9:16 vertical / one continuous handheld shot, no cuts / natural sync sound, no music

STYLE: raw candid smartphone video shot from across the street, looks like a bystander filmed it and posted it. Photorealistic, low contrast, muted desaturated colors, flat overcast daylight, real concrete and asphalt texture, phone sensor noise, slight rolling-shutter wobble on fast moves, focus hunting, digital zoom softness when zoomed in. Handheld level 2 to 3: the camera is a phone held in someone’s hands, it bounces with the operator’s breathing and small steps, reframing lags behind the action, no smooth gimbal, no stabilization. Everything is real animals with accurate anatomy, size and feather/fur texture. No CGI feel, no cinematic grading.

REFERENCES: @Image1 is the exact FIRST frame, start with no change. Lock everything in it: the Canada goose standing on the cracked sidewalk, with a black head and long black neck, a white chin strap, a brown-grey body and a pale chest; the small black Wayfarer sunglasses on its face; the small black pistol tucked in its wing; the grey concrete wall; the curb; the litter; the cigarette butt; the white lane line; the passerby’s legs in dark shorts and black clogs at the right edge. The goose is the only hero. The passerby simply finishes walking out of frame to the right.

VIDEO PROMPT: 0.0s to 2.0s: Open on the exact frame of @Image1. The passerby’s legs step out of frame right. The goose turns its long neck, then starts walking with a slow, unbothered waddle-swagger, chest out, pistol still held in its wing, hanging at its side, barrel down. It steps off the curb onto the asphalt with a heavy flat-footed drop. The phone camera drifts slightly and reframes late, a small bounce from the operator shifting weight. 2.0s to 4.0s: The camera performs a shaky digital zoom in on the goose as it waddles along the road toward the camera side of the street, slight focus hunt, the image gets a bit softer and noisier as the zoom tightens. Sunglasses stay on. 4.0s to 6.0s: The camera pulls the zoom back a little and pans left, revealing the middle of the street ahead of the goose: three street cats playing with a live mouse on the asphalt, the way real cats play. A real small grey mouse keeps trying to run away in short fast dashes. A scruffy tabby cat crouches low, tail twitching, and pins the mouse under one front paw, then lifts the paw and lets it dart off again. The orange cat bats the mouse back toward the middle with a quick paw swipe. The black cat creeps in low, ears forward, bum wiggling, ready to pounce. The cats and the mouse keep moving the whole time, nobody is still. The goose keeps walking straight at them. Distant traffic passes in the background. 6.0s to 8.5s: The goose stops about two meters from the cats and plants its webbed feet. Its head stays level and its beak stays closed. It lifts its wing with the pistol out to the side, away from its head and body, and tilts the barrel up at an angle, pointed only at the empty sky. The pistol fires two short blank shots, then a third. The small sharp muzzle flash and the puff of smoke come only from the tip of the pistol barrel, at wing height, clearly apart from the head. The wing kicks slightly with each recoil. Nothing comes out of the beak or the face. The phone camera jolts hard with each crack, the operator flinches, the frame jumps and over-rotates, then corrects back onto the goose. Nothing and no one is hit. 8.5s to 11.0s: All three cats startle at the first crack and jump away from the mouse. The cats bolt with real cat physics, low bodies, scrambling paws, tails puffed: the tabby sprints far down the road and shrinks into the distance, the black cat darts left under a parked car, the orange cat leaps sideways to the right and vanishes behind the curb. The freed mouse scurries fast across the asphalt and squeezes into a storm drain opening in the curb near the camera. The camera whips toward the fleeing cats, lags, then finds the goose again. 11.0s to 15.0s: The goose lowers the pistol back to its side, barrel down, and continues its walk straight toward the camera across the road with the same slow gangster waddle, body rocking side to side, neck held high, webbed feet slapping on the asphalt. The camera performs a second shaky digital zoom in, slowly tightening on the goose’s black head, white chin strap and black sunglasses as it walks, focus breathing, sensor noise rising. The goose fills the lower frame, sunglasses on, pistol hanging at its side, and walks past the lens at the last moment. End on the goose close and slightly out of focus, camera still handheld and unsteady.

AUDIO: Natural street ambience only: distant traffic hum, a car passing, wind on the phone microphone, the passerby’s clogs slapping away, the goose’s webbed feet padding on concrete then slapping on asphalt, <three short sharp pistol cracks echoing off the concrete wall, a fraction apart>, a muffled phone-mic clip and the operator’s small startled breath on the first crack, cats hissing and yowling once, the scramble of paws on asphalt, a tiny mouse squeak and a scrape at the drain, then the ambience settles back to traffic and the goose’s steady footsteps growing closer to the microphone. No music, no narration, no spoken words.

CONSISTENCY: The goose is the same Canada goose from @Image1 for the entire shot, identical markings, black neck, white chin strap and size. The black Wayfarer sunglasses stay on its face for the whole video and are never removed, never slip. The pistol never leaves its wing. Every shot, flash and puff of smoke comes only from the pistol barrel, never from the beak; the beak stays closed during the shots. The goose stays on its two webbed feet with real goose anatomy and walks with a real goose waddle, only with more attitude. The cats are real street cats, the mouse is a real small mouse, alive and moving every second it is on screen, never frozen, never held in a mouth. The location is the same street, same grey wall and curb, from the same across-the-street viewpoint. One continuous shot from one phone.

NEGATIVE PROMPT: no cuts, no scene change, no smooth gimbal movement, no stabilization, no cinematic color grading, no cartoon, no CGI look, no plastic or toy look, no extra geese, no pigeons, no duck, no extra people in the foreground, no camera or phone visible, no drone, no sunglasses removed, no pistol dropped, no pistol pointed at any animal or person, no pistol held next to the head, no flash, fire or smoke from the beak or face, no shooting from the mouth, no injuries, no blood, no cats hit, no mouse hurt, no frozen or stiff mouse, no mouse in a cat’s mouth, no still cats, no flying, no wings spread wide, no floating objects, no teleporting cats, no morphing, no warping, no text, no captions, no watermark, no music, no narration.

The goose photo is @Image1, the first frame. Set 15 seconds and 9:16.

Why this prompt works

The first frame is already made. The photo from step 1 fixes the goose, the sunglasses, the pistol and the street. The video model does not have to invent any of it. It only has to make it move.

The camera is a person, not a machine. The prompt says what the person filming does: breathes, steps, flinches at the shots, zooms in too far and turns too late. This is what makes it look like real footage.

The pistol only points at the sky. “Pointed only at the empty sky” and “nothing and no one is hit”. The cats run because of the noise. Without these lines the model may aim the pistol at the cats.

The goose stays a goose. A black neck, a white chin strap, webbed feet, a waddle. The negative prompt also says “no pigeons, no duck, no flying”. Without this, the goose can turn into another bird, or fly away after the shots.

Sound sells the joke. Three cracks echo off the wall, the person filming gasps, the cats hiss. After that you hear only traffic and goose feet. The quiet walk at the end is the punchline.

Make it your own

  • Another animal. Swap the goose for a pigeon, a seagull or a raccoon. Change the animal in both prompts, with its colours and how it walks. Keep the sunglasses, the pistol and the phone look. We only made it with a goose.
  • A vertical first frame. The first frame is 4:3, but the video is 9:16. If you want the first frame to match the video, change “4:3 framing” to “9:16 vertical framing” in the image prompt.

Where it goes wrong

What you gotThe fix
The video looks too clean, like a filmKeep the STYLE block as it is. Do not add “cinematic” or “4K”
The camera is smooth, like a gimbalKeep “no smooth gimbal, no stabilization” and “handheld level 2 to 3”
The goose turns into another birdKeep the goose description in REFERENCES and “no pigeons, no duck”
The goose shoots from its beakKeep “out to the side, away from its head” and “nothing comes out of the beak”. Do not ask the goose to raise its neck or honk while it shoots
The mouse looks frozen, like a toyKeep the play: the mouse keeps dashing away and the cats keep catching it. Do not put the mouse in a cat’s mouth
The goose flies awayKeep “no flying, no wings spread wide”
The sunglasses fall offKeep “never removed, never slip” and check they sit well in the first frame
The pistol points at the catsKeep “pointed only at the empty sky” and “nothing and no one is hit”
Music plays over the videoKeep “no music” in FORMAT, AUDIO and the negative prompt
