Anime Borscht — The Whole Recipe in One 25-Second Video
One prompt cooks Ukrainian red borscht from raw meat to a served bowl, in glossy anime style. Six stages, hands and food only, vertical for Reels.
[Generation Goal] Generate a 25-second vertical animated cooking scene. The central subject is a bowl of Ukrainian red borscht, and the primary event is the dish being cooked in full, from raw meat to a served bowl. Only hands and food appear — no faces. [Style — applies to every stage] Modern glossy anime food illustration, crisp thin warm-brown linework on the food, semi-realistic volume with smooth digital shading. Food rendered appetite-first: wet specular highlights on every surface, visible gloss and viscosity, juicy translucent edges, crisp garnish detail. Bright clean diffuse daylight from a window with a soft sun patch across a pale marble counter, gentle shadows, modern kitchen. Deep ruby red as the hero tone against a pale neutral background, cream white and dill green accents. Shallow depth of field, background softly blurred into bokeh. Three-quarter top-down angle, food filling the lower two thirds of the vertical frame. No on-screen text, no logos, no photoreal skin. [Stage 1] Initial state: a piece of bone-in pork on a white board beside a tall pot of cold water on a pale marble counter in bright daylight. Primary event: hands lower the meat into the pot, the water comes to a boil, a spoon skims grey foam from the surface, then the cooked meat is lifted out and pulled off the bone into glossy chunks. End state: the pot holds clear golden broth with a bay leaf, and a plate of torn meat chunks sits beside it, the meat shining wet. [Stage 2] Continue from the previous stage: same counter, same daylight, the pot of golden broth stays on the stove. Primary event: hands cube potatoes on the white board, shred cabbage into fine ribbons, dice an onion, then grate carrot and beetroot on a box grater — ruby shreds falling into a growing pile with each pass, the beetroot visibly shrinking in the hand. End state: four separate piles on the board — white potato cubes, pale cabbage ribbons, translucent onion dice, and a wet ruby heap of grated beetroot beside orange carrot. [Stage 3] Continue from the previous stage: same board, same piles, the broth still simmering behind. Primary event: onion and carrot are tipped into shimmering hot oil in a wide pan and soften to translucent gold, then the grated beetroot goes in with tomato paste, a spoon of sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice, a ladle of broth is poured over and everything is stirred and stewed. End state: the pan holds a thick glossy deep-red stew, the surface wet and mirror-bright, steam rising off it. [Stage 4] Continue from the previous stage: the red pan stays on the stove, contents unchanged. Primary event: potato cubes slide into the boiling broth and sink through the bubbles, then the shredded cabbage is added and softens into the liquid. End state: the pot is full of pale golden broth with potato and cabbage bobbing at a rolling boil. [Stage 5] Continue from the previous stage: same pot, same stove, the pan of red stew waiting beside it. Primary event: the whole red beetroot stew is tipped into the pot and the broth blooms vivid ruby in slow swirling ribbons, the meat chunks are returned, a bay leaf and a pinch of salt drop in. End state: the pot is full of deep glossy ruby borscht at a gentle simmer, backlit steam curling upward, the surface rippling with light. [Stage 6] Continue from the previous stage: same pot, same red, same counter. Primary event: crushed garlic is scattered over the surface, a ladle fills a cream ceramic bowl, a spoon of thick sour cream is dropped in and swirls into a white spiral, and a sprig of dill is laid on top. End state: the finished bowl sits centred in frame, sour cream spiral intact, steam rising, dark bread and a glass of juice softly blurred behind it. [Camera] Stages 1-5: medium close-up at a three-quarter top-down angle, gentle drift, one slow push-in per stage toward the food being worked, background held in soft bokeh. Stage 6: cut to a frontal three-quarter shot of the bowl and hold, very slow push-in. Keep all action in the centre third of the vertical frame. [Audio] <broth bubbling and a spoon skimming foam> <the rasp of a box grater on beetroot> <onion sizzling in hot oil> <potato cubes dropping into boiling liquid> <a ladle knocking the rim of a ceramic bowl> (soft warm strings, low in the mix) [Maintain Consistency] Keep one pair of hands, one pot, one pan, the same white board, the same marble counter and the same bright daylight throughout. The beetroot is always grated on a box grater — never let finished shreds or julienne appear under a knife blade, and the beetroot visibly shrinks as the pile grows. Every surface stays wet and glossy, never matte or dry. The borscht only ever gets redder, never brown or pink.

A whole pot of borscht gets cooked on screen. Meat goes into cold water. The vegetables get cut and grated. The beetroot stews red in a pan, then turns the broth ruby. It ends on a bowl with sour cream and dill.

The whole process
- Copy the prompt above.
- Open AIReel. The link opens the video page with Seedance 2.5 already picked.
- Paste the prompt.
- Set the length to 25s and the ratio to 9:16.
- Pick 720P or 1080P and press Generate.
Why the prompt is split into stages
A recipe has many steps. If you write them as one long sentence, the model mixes up the order. The potatoes go in before the broth exists, or the soup is red before the beetroot is cooked.
So the prompt gives the model six stages. Each stage has three parts:
- Initial state or “Continue from the previous stage” says what is already on the counter. This keeps the same pot and the same board from stage to stage.
- Primary event is the action in this stage.
- End state is what you can see when the stage is over. The next stage starts from there.
The end state matters most. It tells the model where each stage has to land.
The one line that stops fake knife work
Video models are bad at cutting. A knife touches a whole beetroot and finished shreds appear under the blade. It looks broken.
This prompt avoids it. The beetroot is grated on a box grater. The shreds fall into a pile that grows, and the beetroot gets smaller in the hand. The model can show that in one simple motion. The last block says it again, so the model does not switch back to a knife.
The colour lock
Borscht on screen often turns brown or pink. The last line of the prompt is there to stop that: “The borscht only ever gets redder, never brown or pink.” Keep that line in any version you write.
Make it your own dish
Keep the shape of the prompt. Change what is in it.
| What to change | How |
|---|---|
| The dish | Rewrite the stages, one visible action per stage |
| The number of steps | 4 steps fit in 15 seconds, 5 to 6 fit in 20 to 25, more need 30 |
| The main colour | Change “deep ruby red” in the style block and in the colour lock |
| The kitchen | Change the counter and the light in the style block and in stage 1 |
Where it goes wrong
| What you got | The fix |
|---|---|
| A short or landscape video | Set 25s and 9:16 in the settings, not only in the text |
| Steps happen out of order | Check that every stage after the first starts with “Continue from the previous stage” |
| Shreds appear under a knife | Keep the box grater line in stage 2 and in the last block |
| The soup looks brown | Keep “only ever gets redder, never brown or pink” |
| A face or a person appears | Keep “Only hands and food appear — no faces” in the first block |
| The food looks flat and dry | Keep “every surface stays wet and glossy” in the last block |
